Pro-Ject T1: The New Generation Turntable The T1 from Pro-Ject Audio Systems is the first turntable on the T-Line to deliver true HiFi sound quality for little money. This shines with high-quality materials, a stylish look and an incredibly lively sound. During the extensive development process, meticulous care was taken not to compromise on sound quality despite the incredible price.

The stylish, CNC machined chassis, available in high-gloss black, matt white & walnut, contains no plastic parts and is made completely without cavities, so that no unwanted vibrations in the chassis can occur. In keeping with this philosophy, the glass platter is also solid. In contrast to plastic or light steel plate plates, so unwanted resonances are effectively suppressed.

Audiophile design gets a whole new, affordable entry-level option The T1 turntable is belt-driven. This precisely transfers the drive power to the newly designed sub-platter, which in turn sits in the ultra-precise 0.001mm turntable bearing with a hardened stainless steel shaft in a brass bushing.

The T1 tonearm is a new tonearm version built on proven Pro-Ject designs. The 8.6 “long tonearm consists of a single piece of aluminium and is equipped with low-friction bearings so that sampling is always done with absolute precision. The pre-assembled Ortofon OM 5E quality pickup with elliptical pin-cut makes this turntable a true hi-fi playback device without compromise.

In addition, the T1 is not – as often happens – only with simple cinch cable delivered. In the scope of supply, namely, excellent shielded, quasi-symmetrical, low-capacitive phono cables, which were designed by Pro-Ject specifically for the connection of turntables included. In addition, there is also a dust cover, for additional protection of the T1 and a felt mat, which serves as a soft support surface for your plates, in the package.

The Chassis

The plinth supporting the Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB is created using precision CNC routing, meaning there are no hollow spaces, as well as no plastic pieces, commonly found in entry-level turntables, resulting in avoidance of unwanted vibrations. The turntable is available in a stylish Piano Black finish.

The Motor & Sub-Platter

In the T1 the motor drives a flat belt-system, attached to a newly designed sub-platter, which is mounted into an ultra-precise 0.001mm main bearing with a hardened steel axle and brass bushing. Resulting in reduced feedback from the bearing when compared to other turntables, and also the added advantage of not having to fiddle with the belt once it’s in place!

The Tonearm & Cartridge

The Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB has a straight, 8.6” tonearm with a stiff aluminium construction. This one-piece tonearm also features low-friction bearings for absolute accuracy in use. Besides the clean and stylish looks, the integrated head shell won‘t cause any additional vibrations either, a big upgrade from common screwed or glued-on head shells you normally see in turntables at this price point. The Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB comes pre-fitted with an Ortofon OM5e moving magnet cartridge, which features an elliptical diamond stylus tip for accurate playback and a pre-weighted counter weight. Meaning it is ready to play, straight out of the box! No adjustments, no need to balance the tonearm.

Switchable Phono Stage On-Board

The Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB includes an on-board switchable moving magnet phono stage. This means that the turntable is ready-to-go out of the box, but also has the flexibility for the customer to upgrade their phono stage in the future. This could be a separate phonostage, or an in-built phono in their existing amplifier.

Push Button Speed Control

To make it as easy as possible for customers to get started with the Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB an electronic speed control is integrated into the turntable – activated with a simple switch on the front-left of the plinth. This allows easy switching between the two most common speed formats, 33 and 45 RPM.

Heavy Glass Platter

The Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB is supplied with a heavy, low-resonance glass platter. A significant upgrade from plastic or lightweight steel alternatives, this new platter both looks stylish & provides the consistent speed that your vinyl needs to sound its best.
