When you have no space for bass, our R2 12″ shallow subwoofer can help satisfy your need for low frequency music. These drivers can fit in tight spaces due to an elevated motor structure that reduces speaker depth. Mica injected polypropylene cones make sure bass notes are clean and accurate. Stamp-cast baskets feature spider venting typically reserved for traditional depth mounted models to keep the motor cool! These shallow subwoofers are optimized for sealed enclosures.

When you have no space for bass, our Prime R2 shallow subwoofer will satisfy your need. This 12” subwoofer handles 200 Watts RMS and 2-ohm and 4-Ohm Dual Voice Coil design lets you to wire them in various configurations.

Improved reliability and performance by reducing fatigue and possible shorting.
Multipoint "periodic" stitched lead wire technique reduces the mass of each tinsel lead and spreads stress and strain over a greater area, significantly improving the reliability and performance of the subwoofer.
These stitched tinsel leads withstand extreme duty cycles, fatigue and high current that is critical to robust design.
Anodized Aluminum Voice Coil Former
Rockford Fosgate subwoofers use anodized aluminum voice coil formers that provide superior heat dissipation (up to 100° at full power levels). Unlike traditional plastic substitutions, aluminum acts like a heat-sink to quickly dissipate thermal build-up on the voice coil. This keeps subwoofers cool during high SPL conditions.
Two things generally happen when voice coils heat-up.
They can generate heat close to the melt-down temp of their adhesive bonds which leads to eventual failure.
Voice coil dc resistance increases and reduces SPL output.
Solution... Rockford Fosgate subwoofers use aluminum formers or voice coils for their excellent heat dissipation and SPL capabilities unlike many other plastic substitutes.
