The Power T400X4ad 400 Watt 4-channel ultra-compact, amplifier is built on Rockford Fosgate’s proprietary Class-AD technology, featuring Constant Power to produce the same output at both 4-Ohm and 2-Ohm impedances. Flexible vehicle integration enabled through low-level and high-level inputs with auto turn-on. Top mounted controls allow easy access to built-in crossover and C.L.E.A.N. input/output clip detection circuits. Constant Power
Music and speakers have a dynamic relationship. As the frequency of music varies, so does the impedance of the speaker. Rockford Fosgate’s patented Constant Power circuit design actively monitors and increases voltage and current as the speaker’s impedance rises with music, resulting in up to a 25% increase in total amplifier power.
Class-AD
This technology allows the amplifier to produce more power with less current draw from the vehicle's charging system.
Rockford Fosgate's AD topology brings out high efficiency bd amplifier design to a full range application. Class AD uses our Dynamic Frequency Switching to increase the switching frequency during lower output levels for better signal resolution. This coupled with Post Choke Feedback Filtering compares the input signal to the output signal at the speaker connector removing any unwanted distortion. These technologies eliminate the inherent switching noise associated with typical class D designs and also provide instantaneous output power over varying impedance loads.
3-Stage Airflow
3-stage airflow method effectively exhausts heat and ensures your amplifier runs cooler for optimum performance.
Compact Rockford Fosgate Power BR and AD amplifiers generate a lot of wattage in a compact chassis. Â A natural by-product of generating this power is heat. To get rid of this heat, Rockford Fosgate engineers developed an efficient method to keep the amplifier running cool.

This is accomplished by using a 3-stage thermal lock extrusion. It uses "dual fan forced induction" to pull in fresh air. It pulls heat off the MOSFETS and directs airflow into the exhaust channel. Then finally drives this heat out of the amplifier. Furthermore, the top heat sink is decoupled from the bottom, so the top remains cooler to the touch. SUMMARY When installing the amplifier, it's best to allow 2 to 3 inches minimum clearance around the fan intake and exhaust vents to optimize air-flow.

Time and sophisticated test equipment have been replaced, with Rockford’s integrated level setting technology called CLEAN (Calibrated Level Eliminates Audible Noise). Using simple LED indicators to identify both signal clipping from the audio source and the output level clipping to the speakers. This precise level set-up eliminates speaker damaging distortion.

DSM utilize 1% tight-tolerances improving efficiency of the circuit, decreases cross-talk from other discrete components and lowers operating temperature.
DSM - An industry-leading manufacturing process, DSM utilizes high-speed robotics, high-quality 1% tight-tolerance parts and large board traces. The discrete components are laser etched to meet a particular value and a very low tolerance. This lower tolerance improves the efficiency of the circuit, decreases cross-talk from other discrete components and lowers operating temperature. These superior components are used by aerospace, automotive, and cellular manufacturers.
